ABOUT ME & MY MOTIVATION

Hello, my name is Aline, I am a certified dog sitter and I was, I am and I will always be:

a dog lover.

A few years ago I didn't fall in love with dogs – I've been for a long time – I fell in love with short-nosed breeds. Having grown up with an active Border Collie mixed breed dog, I quickly learned that Faya, my French bulldog, needs special care and more attention. When I was looking for a dog sitter in the area, I noticed something: every dog is treated the same. Sounds normal at first, but there's a catch: can my bulldog be treated like any other dog? Not really.

In the summer heat, care must always be taken to ensure that she is not too hot and that she always has access to water, because with her short nose she cannot regulate the temperature as easily as other dogs can. Her skin folds must always be kept clean and dry, otherwise troublesome infections will develop and expensive vet visits will follow. She shouldn't jump from bench to bench or sofa to sofa like another young dog might, otherwise she might get spine problems later on. Something else struck me: the pack attitude. A dog with a short snout, non-existent tail and large erected ears cannot be assessed or read well by other dogs. Dog communication is lacking and in the worst case this can end in a fight, although none of the dogs has done anything wrong. This is also why bulldogs often end up being the outsiders in the dog game.

Of course it is up to us humans to stop overbreeding dogs in such a way that these problems can arise in the first place and we are on the right track in Switzerland. We only want the best for our dear bulldogs and, like any other dogs, we want to offer them a lot of joy and fun.

For these reasons I would like to offer a service for short nosed breeds that meets their needs. Of course I don't want to exclude other dog breeds, so if you think that your dog fits into my group, it is of course very welcome.

I look forward to meeting you and looking after your dogs!
